ASHA supports the purposeful breeding of the "Spanish-type". Our goal is not to market our Sulphur's, it is for the preservation of the Spanish Sulphur gene pool. As much as we don't like to see the zillions of horses that are out there, time goes on and the breeding age of a mare or stallion may be passing by. In order to use these animals for purposeful breeding, we encourage breeders to only do so if there is a legal and binding contract with a buyer. We would also like to encourage horse breeders to stay within the Spanish Sulphur strain of your horses, avoid cross breeding, thus narrowing down the glut of unwanted horses and preserving the gene pool of the Spanish Sulphur Horse.
